Patrick Muldoon, Actor Known for STARSHIP TROOPERS and MELROSE PLACE, Passes Away at 57

Patrick Muldoon, an accomplished actor recognized for his performances in Starship Troopers, Days of Our Lives, and Melrose Place, passed away on Sunday at the age of 57. According to TMZ, Muldoon experienced a fatal heart attack at his residence in Beverly Hills, where he lived with his girlfriend, Miriam Rothbart.

Muldoon was born in San Pedro, California, and first gained widespread attention in 1992 when he portrayed the charming Austin Reed on NBC's Days of Our Lives. His character was notably involved in a popular romantic storyline with Christie Clark’s character, Carrie. Later, Muldoon took on the role of the villainous Richard Hart on Fox’s Melrose Place, appearing from 1995 until his character was killed off in the fifth season.

Among Muldoon's most iconic roles was that of the confident pilot Zander Barcalow in Paul Verhoeven’s 1997 cult classic science fiction movie Starship Troopers. His acting credits also include appearances on television shows such as Who's The Boss? and Saved By The Bell, as well as films like Stigmata, Bad Karma, and Born To Rise.
