Published April 16, 2026

Hillsborough County, FL – Deputies in Hillsborough County witnessed Kami Ellis driving in the wrong direction at approximately 12:30 a.m. on Sunday. Body camera recordings show Ellis operating her vehicle on the incorrect side of the road and driving onto a curb.

"Are you feeling alright?" the deputy inquired during the traffic stop. Ellis replied, "Yeah, I'm good." The deputy responded, "You're good? Okay, but you were just driving the wrong way and even went up on a curb."

When asked to present her driver's license, Ellis initially handed over a credit card, followed by a Barnes & Noble gift card, as shown in the footage.

The video also captures Ellis stepping out of her car before deputies placed her in handcuffs.

She is currently facing charges related to driving under the influence.
