Popeyes Launches First Anime Collaboration with Limited-Time Menu and Collectibles

Published April 15, 2026

Popeyes has unveiled its inaugural anime partnership.

The fried chicken brand teamed up with Toei Animation to introduce Popeyes x One Piece on Monday, April 13, featuring a special meal inspired by the beloved anime series.

“Aiming to capture the essence of the series’ iconic characters and their epic adventures, this unique One Piece collaboration encourages fans to dine like members of the Straw Hat Crew with exclusive menu offerings and collectible items crafted to ignite fandom, sharing, and excitement,” stated a press release provided to PEOPLE.

Originating from Eiichiro Oda’s bestselling manga, One Piece first aired on Japanese television in 1999 and was recently adapted into a live-action Netflix show, which debuted in 2023. Season 2 premiered on March 10.

The storyline centers on pirate Monkey D. Luffy and his Straw Hat Crew as they embark on a journey to discover a legendary treasure.

Popeyes’ menu for the collaboration features the Luffy Bento Bundle, which includes two pieces of Signature Chicken, Mac & Cheese, a Gum-Gum Fruit Lemonade, and Chopper's Cupcake. Prices may vary, but the bundle is priced around $13.99.

Additionally, the Luffy Bento Box (approximately $7.99) offers two pieces of Popeyes Signature Chicken alongside Mac & Cheese.

Individual items include the Gum-Gum Fruit Lemonade (about $3.49), inspired by the original fruit from One Piece, and Chopper's Cupcake (roughly $3.99), described as a “sweet treat as endearing as the Straw Hats’ resident doctor.”

A limited number of customers purchasing a Luffy Bento Box Bundle at select locations on April 13 will receive a complimentary collectible bento box. Participating locations include New York City (1530 Broadway, New York, N.Y.); Boston (304 Squire Rd, Revere, Mass.); New Jersey (571 Milltown Rd, New Brunswick, N.J.); Chicago (621 Ogden Ave, Downers Grove, Ill.); Los Angeles (7635 Winnetka Ave, Los Angeles, Calif.); and Miami (1427 Washington Avenue, Miami Beach, Fla.).

Fans can also buy merchandise such as collectible keychains, T-shirts, and Bento Boxes online starting April 15.

Last month, Popeyes rolled out a $5 Chicken Sandwich.

The chain refreshed its $5 Faves Menu, available from March 16 through May 3 at participating U.S. locations, according to a press release shared with PEOPLE.

“Popeyes is bringing its iconic Chicken Sandwich into the value arena, making one of the most talked-about quick-service restaurant items in recent memory more affordable than ever,” the release noted.

The sandwich features a chicken breast filet marinated in Popeyes seasonings, hand-battered and breaded in buttermilk before frying. This discounted option joins other $5 deals including the three-piece Signature Chicken, three-piece tenders, and two regular sides.

“At a time when customers are focusing on value, Popeyes is delivering premium, crave-worthy Louisiana flavor at a price point that stands out, giving fans a reason to return (and reconsider) what $5 can get you,” the release added.
