USPS Announces Final Shipping Deadlines for Mother’s Day 2026 with Two Crucial Cutoff Dates

With Mother’s Day approaching on May 10 this year, there remains ample opportunity to mail cards and gifts in time for the celebration.

For those using USPS Priority Mail, it is recommended to send items by May 6. This service typically takes between one and two days for delivery, ensuring packages arrive by May 8, which is two days ahead of Mother’s Day.

Alternatively, if you opt for USPS First Class Mail, the deadline to ship is May 1 to guarantee delivery by Mother’s Day. This option generally requires two to five days for transit, so sending by May 1 allows for arrival by May 8.

The United Parcel Service (UPS) also provides delivery services during this period, but there are important considerations. No pickup or delivery services will be available on May 10, and many UPS store locations may be closed on that day.

Customers are encouraged to visit the UPS website to verify the specific operating hours of their local store.
