ICYMI: Nutella Jar Sets Record During Artemis II Lunar Mission [VIDEO]

On Monday, a jar of Nutella made an unexpected mark in space history as it floated inside NASA's Orion spacecraft while four astronauts journeyed to the farthest point from Earth ever reached by humans. During their orbit around the Moon, the crew reached a distance of 252,752 miles, with footage showing the chocolate-hazelnut spread just four minutes prior to achieving this record.

The clip rapidly gained popularity across social media platforms, with many viewers highlighting that Nutella had ventured farther into space than any person currently on Earth. Comments ranged from calling it "the ultimate space advertisement" to "the most remarkable product placement" ever recorded.

Bethany Stevens, NASA's press secretary, clarified that the Nutella's presence was not a planned marketing effort, emphasizing that NASA does not choose astronaut meals based on brand sponsorships.

In response via social media, Nutella expressed it was "honored to have traveled farther than any spread in history."
