Arkansas Woman Breaks World Record by Wearing 55 T-Shirts in Half Marathon

Meredith Smith, hailing from Arkansas, achieved a Guinness World Record by donning 55 T-shirts while running the Fort Smith Half Marathon on March 30, 2025.

She completed the race in less than 3 hours and 30 minutes, securing the record for the highest number of T-shirts worn by a female during a half marathon.

"Setting a running record held special meaning for me, especially since I never imagined it would be possible when I started running in 2013 as a method to lose weight," Smith shared with Guinness World Records. "Attempting this record by layering additional weight through T-shirts felt like retracing my own steps, allowing me to physically witness the progress I've made."
